Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has advised residents of the state against storing of inflammable products at home and business premises especially during this harmattan season.

In a statement by her Press Secretary Paul Damgbor, Dr. Banigo said the warning became necessary to avert possible fire outbreaks arising from hoarding of fuel and the activities of black marketers.
Dr. Banigo frowned at the indiscriminate storage of inflammables and use of fireworks by youths in the state.
The Deputy Governor described harmattan as a catalyst for inflammable substances which are capable of wreaking havoc at residential areas and advised parents to educate their wards and children on the perils of harbouring explosives and inflammable substances.
She urged the residents to be safety conscious and enjoined both private and the State Fire Service officials to be on the alert in case of emergency calls during the dry season.
Dr. Banigo reminded the people that the ban on firearms during and after the Christmas season in the state is still in force and enjoined the public to feel free to use the emergency numbers of the Fire Service agencies in the case of any emergencies.
