Erling Haaland scored a brace on Saturday as Manchester City thrashed Leicester City 3-1 to keep tab on league leader, Arsenal.

City has now cut Arsenal’s leader at the top to three points as both teams have played 30 matches. Arsenal can widen the gap on Sunday if they beat struggling West Ham.

John Stones opened scoring for City five minutes into the game. He got to the ball on the edge of the box and fired in a first-time shot without any hesitation. The strike was excellent and went inside the right post.

Haaland added a second goal for the homers from the penalty spot on 13 minutes. He easily converted the penalty kick as he sent the ball straight into the bottom right corner, ricocheting in off the post.

The gangling striker added City’s third goal on 25 minutes. He was set free in the area by Kevin De Bruyne and made no mistake with a lovely finish into the bottom right corner.

Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back for Leicester on 75 minutes, slotting the ball into an unguarded net from close range after a shot rebounds off a defender.

Four minutes to duration time, Ederson had an amazing save. James Maddison swirled around the defenders and attempted to beat the keeper with a close-range shot towards the bottom right corner, but failed.

On added time, Kelechi Iheanacho found in space by a decent pass, and he immediately hit a rocket of a shot at goal that clipped the outside of the right post.
