Another three-storey building has collapsed along Ladipo Oluwole Street, Apapa area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

This is coming few days in which a seven-storey building under construction caved in on Banana Island area of Ikoyi, Lagos, with one person dead.

Today’s partial collapse occurred at No. 43B, Ladipo Oluwole Street.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the collapse of the frontal area of the second floor occurred in the early hour of Sunday, 23rd April, 2023.

He said the property had been served the CN, STW and Seal Up Notices accordingly.

Oke-Osanyintolu said the building was under construction when it caved in, adding that it had Provisional Development Permit of a Two (2) floor structure.

“No Authorization and building was not staged by LASBCA. Construction is at third floor roof level with block work completed {additional floor as against the Two floors Approved}.

“There was no casualty recorded on site as the time of filing this report,” he said, adding that the site was sealed and cordoned off.
