The Lagos State Police Command says its operatives have recovered a pistol and six cartridges from fleeing armed robbers in the state.
The incident occurred on Saturday on Liasu Road, Ikotun area of Lagos State.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a tweet, said on sighting a police patrol vehicle, the robbers dropped a bag and fled.
He said when the police checked the bag, they found a pistol and six cartridges.
Hundeyin tweeted: “On sighting a patrol vehicle from Ikotun Division, some bad boys on Liasu Road dropped a polyethylene bag and took to their heels.
“On checking, this locally made firearm and six live cartridges were discovered. We will not relent!”
