Mutfwang mourns victims of Jos tanker explosion

Plateau governor-elect, Caleb Mutfwang, has commiserated with victims of Thursday’s tanker explosion in Jos, which led to the loss of lives and properties.

A tanker conveying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on Thursday lost control, veered off the road and went up in flames on Bauchi Road, Jos.

Insp Alfred Alabo, the state police spokesperson, confirmed that 13 persons were burnt beyond recognition, while 28 shops, six cars and two tricycles were also destroyed.

In a statement by his Special Assistant Media, Mr Gyang Bere on Friday, the governor-elect expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident.

Mutfwang condoled the bereaved families and prayed for the healing and quick recovery of those who sustained varying degrees of injuries from the incident.

He also sympathised with the people of Jos North over the sad incident and prayed to God to avert its reoccurrence.

The governor-elect assured citizens that his administration would reorganise the city centre to enhance the free flow of traffic and provide a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
