Former NBA President Okey Wali regains freedom from kidnappers


Mr. Okey Wali, a Senior Advocate Advocate of Nigeria,SAN, and former President of the Nigeria Bar Association,NBA, who was kidnapped about two weeks ago in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has regained freedom.


Chairman of NBA in Port Harcourt, Mr Victor Benibo and close family sources who confirmed the release of Wali to journalists on Monday. Mr. Benibo said that since the kidnap some persons have been arrested but he is not sure whether those suspects were involved in the kidnap or not. He also said that there is no update on the security situation in Rivers State as Boko Haram continue to kill Nigerians across the country and abducting people from their homes even if they are senior citizens like Mr. Okey Wali who was abducted while travelling from Port Harcourt to Abuja on his way back home after attending an NBA meeting held in Abuja last month. 


The source also revealed that Mr. Okey Wali was kidnapped at gunpoint by unknown gunmen while travelling on his own motorcycle from Port Harcourt to Abuja on November 25th 2018 with his wife who was driving along side him when they were attacked by armed men who intercepted them while they were riding their motorcycles
