Troops Rescue 9 Kidnapped Victims in Kogi, Arrest Terrorist Arms Courier
Troops of the Nigerian Army under the 12 Brigade have rescued nine kidnapped victims and disrupted a terrorist logistics network during coordinated operations in Kogi State.
According to military spokesperson Lt. Hassan Abdullahi, the victims—including children and two adult women linked to an attacked Islamic orphanage—were rescued in the Agbaja Forest area of Lokoja Local Government. They have since received medical care and are reported to be in stable condition.
In a separate operation, troops arrested a suspected arms courier, Yahaya Umar, along the Obajana–Lokoja road with 500 rounds of ammunition hidden in a bag of maize. Investigations suggest he was part of a wider terrorist supply network moving weapons across the North Central region.
The army said the operations reflect ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and urged citizens to continue providing useful intelligence to security agencies.
